Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Bush Life Balance membership and Private Members Associations
About PMAs
A Private Members Association is a private membership-based unincorporated organisation where services, education, and activities are offered exclusively to members within the private domain rather than to the general public.
Unlike public businesses that offer services to anyone, a PMA operates through private membership agreements. Members voluntarily join and agree to the association's terms, values, and structure.
Membership
Membership allows the association to operate privately and ensures all services, communications, and resources are provided within a mutually agreed framework.
You can apply by completing the membership form and agreeing to the association's private membership agreement.
BLB has a yearly $1.00 AUD per entity (a living man, woman, organisation or company) which grants access to all projects created under BLB. This includes children up to the age of 18, after which they will need to apply for their own membership. There are further contributions which can be made once inside the membership, depending on which project you are wanting to be part of.
Every $1.00 AUD of the membership money goes to paying for the costs of building and maintaining the website, and for providing the services of the BLB.
All applications for membership will be vetted. There is a series of questions that will establish the likelihood of that applicant's ability or intention to adhere to the Code of Values which we hold dear. That is the primary consideration of whether an application will be accepted.
Yes. Members may cancel their membership at any time in writing to the association, however, no refunds will be given. BLB also reserves the right to revoke membership if terms are not followed.
Members agree to BLB association's private membership agreement, and operating principles.
Yes, you will need to agree you have read and accept our membership agreement either online or physical paper version to have access to all of BLB projects.
Yes, you can absolutely invite anyone you know to join as a member.
Services
Services vary but may include education, consulting, resources, events, or member-based support.
No. All services and resources are offered exclusively to active members.
Services are provided privately within the association structure and membership agreement.
Once your membership is approved, you'll receive instructions for accessing member-only services and resources.
About BLB
BLB is not a Trade Union, however, it is formed with the same right of assembly and right of association laws and rights that are accorded to every living man and woman.
The association operates under its founding principles, which typically include voluntary participation, mutual respect, and member autonomy.
The BLB Code Of Values are shown on the website and membership application. Applicants for membership must commit to uphold these values, as a condition of continuing membership.
Our founding members are: • Jody Lowe - Secretary • Leah Lowe - Treasurer • Colleen Lowe - Chair
Legal
As BLB, like every well-established PMA, operates in a non-statutory environment, there are no lawyers or courts. Instead, we have an Internal Dispute Resolution system, rather than law firms to settle arguments or disputes. It is well known that law firms are paid hourly rates. It is in their interests to prolong the negotiation/argument and thereby increase their fees. BLB's internal dispute resolution process begins with a conversation and may proceed to mediation in front of a third party but will never include a lawyer. Therefore, all resolutions are reached internally within BLB and do not include lawyers or the judicial court system.
Yes. Private membership organizations are a recognized structure when properly formed and operated within applicable laws.
Privacy
Yes. Member confidentiality and privacy are core principles of the association.
Contact
You can contact the association directly through the member support channels listed on our website.
Group Exchange Members
No. All proceeds of your private member to member exchange are yours to deal with. This is an important point of difference that you will still be liable for public facing taxes etc as the PMA jurisdiction protection is only for the exchange proceeds incurred by itself. And those are non-profit!
Absolutely, you can register your membership on behalf of an ACN, ABN, UA or another PMA itself. But the difference is all transactional proceeds and contribution made for the benefit of the PMA and its members will receive a "Contribution statement" for records, but this is not an "Invoice" or "Receipt" for tax deductible purposes in the "Public" jurisdiction.
WOW Factor & Marketplace
The WOW Factor (Working on Wellness Factor) is the marketplace project of Bush Life Balance. It's where members connect as buyers, sellers, and sponsors in a private member-to-member exchange environment. You need an active BLB membership to access it. Visit thewowfactor.earth to explore.
Once you've registered as a BLB member (from $1 AUD/year), you'll receive a branded welcome email with a direct link to set up your WOW Factor profile. Your BLB membership number and details are pre-filled so you can get started immediately.
WOW Factor offers four plans. Member (Free) gives you access to all content and pages, daily wellness tasks and journey tracking, WOW Points rewards, and browsing the Member Exchange directory — but you cannot view, book, or attend events, and cannot list in the directory. Premium ($5/mo) adds the ability to view, book and attend events plus event community chat. GEM ($10/mo, short for Group Exchange Member) includes everything in Premium plus a GEM listing in the Member Exchange directory with up to 10 offerings, a GEM dashboard, and messaging — this requires a BLB-verified Australian Business or PMA entity with a counter-signed Members Partnership Agreement. GEM Power ($20/mo) includes everything in GEM with up to 100 offerings, plus the ability to create and host events (one-off and recurring), full analytics, co-host and sponsor events, priority placement, and VIP support. Note: NZ members and Individuals can still subscribe to GEM Power for event hosting, but the GEM-listing-specific features (directory slot, offerings) require a Business or PMA entity.
As a GEM, you can list products, services, events, workshops, and wellness offerings. Everything happens within the private member-to-member exchange — your proceeds are yours. The PMA structure means the marketplace operates outside traditional commercial regulations.
Projects & Contributions
There are three main ways to get involved: (1) Become a GEM sponsor on WOW Factor and get your business visible to the BLB community, (2) Fund specific projects like the Emerald Community Garden, Chastota energy research, or Average AF education programs — all contributions stay within the PMA, and (3) Volunteer your time and skills by signing the Volunteer Agreement in your member portal.
BLB currently runs four main projects: (1) The WOW Factor — the member marketplace for products, services and events, (2) Emerald Qld Real Farma Community Garden — a regenerative food garden in Central Queensland, (3) Average AF — real-world skills and education for everyday Australians, and (4) Chastota — exploring energy, frequency, and vibrational wellness. All projects are open for member contributions and sponsorship.
Yes! BLB runs on member talent. Whether you're a grower, healer, builder, educator, or have other skills — sign the Volunteer Participation Agreement inside your member portal and you'll be connected with active projects that need your expertise.
